Overview
Gearlog is designed with privacy as a default. We do not operate an account system, and we do not sell your personal information.
Vehicle Data
Vehicles, VINs, maintenance records, photos, notes, modifications, mileage, and fuel logs are stored on your device using Apple platform storage. When iCloud is enabled, Gearlog syncs your private app data through the Apple Account already signed in on your device.
iCloud Sync
Gearlog does not ask for your iCloud password. iCloud availability and private CloudKit sync are managed by Apple and your device settings.
VIN and Recall Lookups
VIN decoding and recall checks may contact the public NHTSA vehicle database to return vehicle details or recall information. Gearlog does not use those lookups to create a user profile.
Purchases
Gearlog Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Gearlog uses StoreKit to verify purchase entitlement. Payment details are handled by Apple, not Gearlog.
Exports and Sharing
PDF reports, imports, and backup files are created on your device. If you choose to share an exported file, the destination is controlled by you through Apple sharing features.
Local Notifications
Smart maintenance reminders use local notifications. They are scheduled on device and are not sent from a Gearlog server.
Contact
Privacy questions can be handled through the support options provided inside Gearlog and on the App Store listing.
